We build basins and vanity bowls from panels cut out of the slab, mitred at the corners so the joins disappear and the finished piece reads as though it were carved from a single block. Getting that right is precision work — the angle has to be exact, and the veining has to be planned so the pattern runs continuously around each corner rather than stopping dead at the join.
Because we’re cutting from slab rather than fitting a manufactured unit, the design isn’t limited to what’s available to buy. Fluted and reeded faces, curved fronts, recessed and integrated bowls, unusual depths and proportions are all possible, and we can carry the same stone through to the vanity top and the surrounding cladding so the whole thing works as one piece.
The fireplace is usually the first thing people look at in a room, so it’s worth getting right. We cut everything from clean modern slips and hearths through to full surrounds and mantels, in marble, limestone and granite, finished to suit either a period property or a contemporary interior.
Cutting from slabs means we’re not restricted to standard sizes or catalogue shapes — we’ve made layered and geometric surrounds that give a room real architectural depth, and matched fireplace stone to worktops and flooring elsewhere in the same house. It’s also where offcuts from larger projects come into their own, since a hearth or a set of slips rarely needs a whole slab.
Beyond the fixed elements of a house, we make freestanding and built-in pieces in stone: dining and coffee tables, console tops, bar tops, reception desks and staircases. These are commissions where the stone is the design, so slab selection and edge detailing matter more than anything else.
We work to bold profiles where the design calls for it — mitred and built-up edges up to 80mm, bullnose and ogee, curved returns — and wherever the piece allows, we cut it from a single slab so there’s nothing breaking the veining. Private residence or commercial space, the process is the same: we work from your drawings or your idea, source the slab, and make it.
